One of the most beautiful Park & Gardens of France, open from the first week-end of april
to All Saints' day
Welcome
- By Valentine de Ganay
As
you stroll under the overhanging trees, across the lawns, tracing
out “lines of perspective” along the water’s edge, you will,
with all your senses, discover five centuries of garden history.
A
day at Courances offers something quite different to the
experience of visiting any other historic garden. The monumental
and the spectacular co-exist with the intimate and the secret.
Nature and culture are equally apparent, layered by history and
shaped with a great sense of freedom. This style from the second
half of the sixteenth century was to inspire Le Nôtre one century
later. There is a simplicity in the way the estate is run which
creates a sense of calm-or maybe the calm inspires the simplicity.
This château and its park form an estate that has been in the
same family since 1872. We also hope you will visit us again soon,
as from season to season, depending on where your steps have led
you or who has made the bouquets in the salons, the visit is a
different experience every time.
